Medal commemorating the capture of Bonn, Huy and Limburg, 1703
This silver medal is said to have been engraved by John Croker. The obverse depicts a left-facing portrait bust of Queen Anne, while the reverse displays the Duke of Marlborough on horseback in Roman attire. The duke is being offered three keys on a salver by a female figure. The keys represent the capture of Bonn (1703), the siege of Huy (1703) and the capture of Limburg (1703), three of Marlborough's many triumphs during the War of the Spanish Succession (1702-1713).
