Lantern slide, World War One, Western Front (1914-1918), 1917.

In July 1917, King George V and Queen Mary spent a fortnight visiting the Western Front. As well as inspecting troops near the front line, the Royal party visited several hospitals, including the establishment at Boulogne shown here.
