The men next to the brigadier, with their kit on the ground in front of them, are: Trooper Higham, Lance-Corporal Cohen, Corporal Fiske, Trooper Ayres and Trooper Wilson. Currie, who had won the Military Cross in World War One, was commander of 4th Armoured Brigade and was later killed in action in Normandy.
