'Palace - Emaumbara', Lucknow, 1858 (c)

British soldiers stand outside one of the heavily damaged gateways to the Hussainabad Imambara. Built during the reign of Muhammad Ali Shah (1837-1842), it was was used to celebrate the festival of Muharram and consisted of a forecourt and main court. The imambara was located within the main court and was flanked by tombs on either side.
