'Government House, Barrackpore, from the south', 1865

Government House, designed by Captain Thomas Anbury and located on the banks of the Hooghly river, opened in 1813. It was used as a country residence for the British Governor-Generals of Bengal. Barrackpore was located to the north of Calcutta. The house is now used as a police training school.
