'A stands for army of which we're so proud, B is for British the best in the crowd, C Connaught Club where WAACS congregate, D is demolished, and that is our fate. E is a blank so it we won't count, F why for Figgy who was not a sport, G is for Gaiters, such miserable things, once out in the rain and they look like chewed strings. H is a hat not bad after all, I am a WAAC and not very tall. J we are jolly, yes I'm sure we're not sad, K is the khaki in which we are clad, L is for leave, we look forward to rest, Mother the one to whom we all love the best, N has been naughty, put it on the floor.

'O for October our last month in the Corps, P Why for pay day, the best in the week, Q is a question, the answers I seek, Recreation room, we make good use of that, Salisbury's the place where I got so fat, T is the coast of which we don't tire, U are the one but who knocked? V stands for victory, which we helped to win, When peace was declared we kicked up a din. W for WAACS they've all gone to bed, so X I will leave to another (wise head).'
