Staff and Cadets, Indian Military Academy, Dehra Dun, 1932 (c)

The Dehra Dun Academy, which was opened by the Commander-in-Chief, General Sir Philip Chetwode on 10 December 1932, was established for the training of Indian gentlemen as officers independently of the Royal Military College Sandhurst. This was done as part of the 'Indianisation' of the officer corps.
