General Slim presenting a gallantry award to an African soldier, 1945 (c)

Photograph, World War Two, Far East 1945 (c).

The awards ceremony took place during a parade of the 1st Northern Rhodesian Regiment and the 2nd (Nyasaland) Battalion, The King's African Rifles. Slim was commander of the Fourteenth Army in Burma.
