'B' Company, West Africa Regiment, 1910

The West African Regiment was raised in 1898 as a single-battalion regiment in Sierra Leone, for the defence of Freetown, a major British naval base. Recruited locally from various tribes, it also maintained internal security in the colony. The regiment was disbanded in 1929.
