Enamelled sweetheart brooch decorated with the emblem of 30 Corps 1942 (c)

30 Corps was a British Army formation established in the Western Desert in 1941 under the command of Lieutenant-General Vyvyan Pope. It distinguished itself at Tobruk in November 1941 and later at El Alamein in 1942. Its emblem was a rampant wild boar, colloquially known as 'the pig' by its soldiers.
