'A.T.S.', 1942

Colour photolithograph recruiting poster by Abram Games, published by H.M. Stationary Office, 1942.

This poster replaced Abram Games' poster, nicknamed, the 'blonde bombshell', as a recruiting poster in 1942. The art critic, Eric Newton, described the girl as 'slightly Russianised', but the Advertiser's Weekly described her as 'fresh and smiling… looking upwards with a gaze of eager enthusiasm.'.
