'Salute the Soldier', fundraising campaign badge, distributed in Plymouth, 1944

'Salute the Soldier' week was held in 1944 and organised by the National Savings Committee (NSC). The NSC was a government body that encouraged people to save money, which could then be used by the state to help finance the war effort. As well as issuing posters and pamphlets, the NSC organised a number of local fundraising weeks. This badge relates to the campaign in Plymouth.
