1st Battalion The Princess of Wales Royal Regiment, pull a Challenger 2 tank for charity, Iraq

Photograph by Corporal Anthony Boocock Royal Logistic Corps, 20th Armoured Brigade Media Ops, 4 August 2006.

80 soldiers provided the power as they pulled a Challenger 2 tank through their base at Camp Abu Naji in Iraq to raise money for charity and to mark the anniversary of the death of two comrades killed during 2004. The troops from Paderborn-based 'C' Company, The 1st Battalion The Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment, known as the 'Armoured Tigers', pulled the 62-and-a-half tonne tank over 200 metres using just tow ropes and raw power.

One of 47 digital images relating to 20th Armoured Brigade's deployment in Iraq on Operation TELIC 8, 2006.
