'Transport & Fitters', 3rd County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters), Egypt, 1943

A similar group photograph (1975-03-63-3-55) taken at Cowley Camp, Mena gives the following names: rear rank, left to right: Troopers A Hancock, D Steinke, Lance Corporal L Langtree, Troopers E Pape, A FLeming and E Yates; middle row, left to right: Corporals D Sandeman and C Fry, Lance Corporal J Walker and Master Sergeant F Heasman (Military Medal); front row, left to right: Lance Sergeant C Heron, Lance Corporal J Taylor, Lance Corporal J D, Dilley, Lance Corporal D Manzie, Troopers T Moretta, S Beardmore, M Cohen, L Walker, R Banks and V Mahoney.

In early 1943, the 3rd County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters) were moved to Cowley Camp at Mena near Cairo. While in Egypt, the Sharpshooters undertook routine training as well as TEWTs, Tactical Exercises Without Troops.
