Flintlock blunderbuss, 1884 (c)

Probably of Indian origin, this weapon has scrollwork inlay on its barrel. It was obtained at the Battle of Omdurman (2 September 1898) and would have had a very short range. Although some Sudanese warriors were armed with a variety of firearms, others used spears, shields and swords.
