Made by Percy Edwards Limited, silver hallmarked London, 1911-1912.

Glass inkwell set into a preserved rhino foot with silver lid surmounted by the head of a rhinoceros; with silver plaque inscribed, 'K of K McMurdo and Fitzgerald Soudan. Uganda B.E. Africa 1911', surmounted by an earl's coronet.
