Drab cloth with two bands of drab silk lace down each leg.
Major-General Charles John Bruce Hay (1877-1940) was born 18 May 1877 in Worcestershire. Commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in 1897, he served in the Tirah Expeditionary Force (1897-1898) and in Waziristan (1901-1902). Hay served in Mesopotamia during World War One (1914-1918). He became a major-general in in 1928 and retired from the Army in 1937. He was killed during The Blitz in 1940.
