Indian gunners resting near their artillery pieces, Waziristan, 1937

The gunners are from the 5th (Bombay) Mountain Battery and were part of a British-Indian force engaged against the tribal forces of the Fakir of Ipi who had risen in revolt. At one point nearly 40,000 British and Indian troops were reported to be in the field trying to capture him.
