Teapot, 1929

Afghan silver with wickerwork handle, probably made in Kabul, 1919 (c).

This teapot was owned by Captain William Lowry Alston, 1st (Marine) Battalion Corps of Bombay Pioneers and acquired by him after it had been looted by Wazir and Mahsud tribesmen, Kabul, Afghanistan, 1929.
