Manuscript notebook containing copies of letters by Colonel John Oldfield, compiled in December 1844

The 24 letters contained in this bound book relate to the period between 15 January and 9 July 1815, and include Oldfield's reflections on the Battle of Waterloo (1815). Oldfield was a brigade major with the Royal Engineers and responsible for the construction of the defences of Ypres.
