Full dress coatee, worn by Ensign Henry Clinton, 1st Regiment of Foot Guards, 1790 (c)

Scarlet frock, with one epaulette and plain buttons.

General Sir Henry Clinton (1771-1829) served as Ensign (2nd lieutenant) in the 1st Regiment of Foot Guards, 1789-1791 and 15th (The Yorkshire East Riding) Regiment of Foot, 1791-1796, then in the 1st (or Royal) Regiment of Foot as lieutenant captain, 1792, Brevett Major, 1794 and lieutenant colonel 1796-1813.
