Coatee worn by Captain William Cludde, Royal Regiment of Horse Guards, 1803 (c)

This blue coatee, with scarlet facings and gold embroidery, belonged to William Cludde who joined the Royal Horse Guards in 1799. Cludde served as aide-de-camp to General Sir Baldwin Leighton. He died at Orleton in Shropshire on 21 May 1809 at the age of 24.
