Scarlet wool cloth with dark blue wool cloth facings.
John Charles Haslock (1809-1885) was born in London on 7 May 1809. He became a cadet in 1825 and arrived in India in July 1826. He rose through the ranks from ensign (1826) to lieutenant colonel (1855), serving with the 39th Native Infantry. He retired on 21 August 1857 as an honorary colonel and died in Somerset on 25 June 1885.
