A guide to tropical and other illnesses and how to treat them using Burroughs, Wellcome and Company's pharmaceutical products. The ailments covered range from typhoid to toothache and an appendix lists the company's products.

From a medical kit, marked to 'Andrew Thorne' (?), 'Grenadier Guards', which was possibly purchased for use during the 3rd Ashanti War (1895-1896).
