Watercolour by 2nd Lieutenant William Thomas Markham (1830-1886), 2nd Battalion, Rifle Brigade, 1854 (c).
Captain Edward Rowland Forman was first commissioned in 1842 and served with the 88th Regiment of Foot before transfering into the 2nd Battalion of the Rifle Brigade in January 1853. He was killed in the Crimea during the attack on the Redan at Sevastopol on 18 June 1855.
