Daffadar (Kaimikhani), 33rd Queen's Own Light Cavalry, Lance Daffadar, (Musalman Rajput), 32nd Lancers, and a Lancer (Ratore Rajput), 34th Prince Albert Victor's Own Poona Horse, 1910

The dismounted non-commissioned officers are depicted talking to a mounted lancer. A daffadar was an Indian cavalry sergeant and a lance daffadar was an Indian cavalry corporal.

This is the original artwork for an illustration in Major G F MacMunn's 'Armies of India', published in 1911.
