From an album compiled by Major Wynne Howes-Roberts (1912-1997), 1st Battalion 13th Frontier Force Rifles, 1939-1940.

Howes-Roberts was born 3 October 1912 in London. He became a 2nd Lieutenant in September 1932, rising through the ranks of the Indian Army in the 1930s. He served with 13th Frontier Force Rifles 1st Battalion, formerly the 55th Coke's Rifles. Howes-Roberts served in Waziristan in 1937-1938 and in Malaya in 1941-1942, during World War Two (1939-1945).
