The Sharpshooters' war diary records the unit in the area of Weert on 26 September 1944, supporting the King's Royal Rifle Corps at the close of Operation MARKET GARDEN. An estimate of the German forces on the other side of the canal was put at one battalion with no less than fourteen 88 mm guns. The Sharpshooters remained in the Weert area until the 7 October when they moved on to Nijmegen.
