Tin bracelet with Star of David motif, made while Moss was a prisoner of war in the Far East, 1942 (c).

Gunner Simon Moss of the 77th (Welsh) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment, Royal Artillery, was taken prisoner by the Japanese on the island of Java on 8 March 1942. He spent the next three years in a number of prisoner of war camps, and participated in the construction of the Burma-Thailand railway.
