As well as holding many other senior positions, Field Marshal Guthrie was Chief of the Defence Staff from 1997-2001, Colonel Commandant of the Special Air Service (SAS) from 2001-2010, and Colonel of the Life Guards, Gold Stick to Her Majesty the Queen from 1999-2019.
From a collection of 200 A3 portrait photographs from the 'Soldiery' exhibition and book by Rory Lewis, winner of the Portrait of Britain award 2017, 2018 and 2019. As a project, 'Soldiery' featured leaders and soldiers from a range of iconic regiments, capturing the evolving face of the 21st century British Army.
