Manuscript letter from Lieutenant William Cowper Coles sent to his father, 19 August 1808

The letter was sent from the 40th (2nd Somerset) Regiment of Foot's 'camp near a small village 30 miles from Lisbon' to his father, Charles Coles, in Hampshire. William Coles was then serving in the Peninsular War (1808-1814).
