India General Service Medal 1854-95, awarded to Sepoy Jiwa Singh, 15th (The Ludhiana Sikh) Regiment of Bengal Infantry

The India General Service Medal was awarded for various minor campaigns on the subcontinent from 1854 until 1895. It was replaced by the India Medal in 1895. Jiwa Singh's medal includes the clasp 'Samana 1891', awarded for service with Major-General Sir William Lockhart's Miranzai Field Force against the Orakziais of the North West Frontier.
