Propaganda poster, unknown artist, 1939.
The 'Keep Calm and Carry On' propaganda poster was one of the first posters produced by the British government on the outbreak of World War Two. It was intended to raise the morale of the British public and persuade them to maintain order and discipline despite the fear of bombing and invasion. The poster was rediscovered in the year 2000 and since been used by commercial businesses to decorate and sell goods such as mugs, bags and clothes.
