Liberation of Europe: First German Prisoners arrive in England, June 1944

A party of 364 German prisoners taken during the Allied landing in Normandy arrive at a railway station in England. Most of them were tired out and slept during their journey from the port to the prisoner of war camp where there were to be detained.

From a collection of 33 British official photographs, D-Day and Operation OVERLORD.
