Medal group awarded to Colonel Philip Charles Euan Belson, Royal Artillery, 1939-1946: 1939-45 Star; France and Germany Star 1944-45; Defence Medal 1939-45; British War Medal 1939-45, with oakleaf; Efficiency Decoration 1946. Belson served in France in 1939-1940 with HAA Regt and after serving as an instructor at the Gunnery School of AA Artillery he was seconded to 8th Bn Parachute Regt, he saw service in the Ardennes and took part in Operation VARSITY, the airborne assault across the Rhine in 1945.
