.625 in Baker flintlock rifle, pattern 1823, 1823-1830 (c); commercially produced rifle with superior workmanship including gold inlay on the lock; probably used by a volunteer rifle regiment; the muzzle has four holes two of which maybe for a bayonet boss or grenade launcher, but more probably for a ramrod swivel; the 'False Breech' is engraved with a hunting horn, as is the side plate; the brass trigger guard is engraved with trophies of arms with horn; fore end broken of stock; cock missing and holding screw broken off; slit stock.
