Sound cassette: oral history interview with Pte Arthur Sidney Gowen who was called up in 1940, serving with 4th Bn Royal Norfolk Regiment, he embarked for Basra in late 1914, but on the outbreak of war with Japan the convoy was diverted to India; Gowen's battalion was subsequently sent to Singapore in Jan 1942.
