War game, 'Das Belagerungspiel Le Jeu de siege' 1810 (c); board in four parts, hinged with red cloth to fold together, when open the board bears a network of lines which cross vertically, horizontally and diagonally; each corner carries a coloured print; 27 wooden pieces; case is formed from two pieces of cardboard fixed together with red tape, one side of the case is inscribed, 'R.WACKER.' and the other a carries a printed label depicting, in colour, troops besieging a town, with the title 'Das Belagerungspiel Le Jeu de siege'. Skeleton of the horse Marengo; in a glass case; Marengo was an Arab horse with a light grey coat, standing just over fourteen hands high; he was purchased by Napoleon after the battle of Abourkir in 1799 and after the Emperor's defeat passed into the ownership of Lord Petre who then sold him to Lt Gen J J W Angerstein, Grenadier Guards; the horse died in 1831. Bronze bell taken by the 18th (Royal Irish) Regiment of Foot at the Capture of Schwedagon Pagoda, Rangoon, during the 2nd Burma War, 1852.
