Afghan matchlock torador used in the 2nd Afghan War, 1878-1880; presented to Major Shaw of the Indian Army, whilst he was commanding a detachment in Waziristan, by the King of all the Waziris, who had used it to snipe at Lord Roberts during the Afghan War; the stock is strongly curved, made of hard dark brown wood and equipped with a folding pronged tripod rest, of wood with iron filaments and is covered with a thick saddle of camel-skin.
