Infantry officer's sword, pattern 1897, 1917 (c); blade inscribed with the owner's name, 2/Lt G D Knight, and the Regiment, 56th Foot; no scabbard. Edged Weapons 1998-10-200
Spadroon, issued to the 95th (Sherwood Foresters) Regiment, 1794 (c); blade has a single broad shallow fuller and has been cleaned by grinding, all decoration has therefore gone; light coloured brass stirrup guard; the upper surface of the pommel bears the regimental title; leather scabbard, bearing the regiment's name and that of the maker, Knubley in Charing Cross, London. Hat band or brassard used by charity flag sellers associated with the 2nd Battalion, Prince of Wales's Own (West Yorkshire Regiment) in response to the Relief of Ladysmith, 28 Feb 1900, Boer War (1899-1902). According to vendor this piece of ribbon was a brassard used by flag sellers for the Regimental charity. The length of the ribbon, however, suggests a hat band. Uniforms 1998-10-257
