Writing case, 1855 (c); wooden box covered in brown leather; hinged lid which is secured by a leather strap coming from the front bottom and fastening by a brass lock; inside are six compartments separated by wooden dividers; the remains of a label indicate that the box may have been used by a hospital sergeant of the 97th (Earl of Ulster's) Regiment.
