Waistbelt clasp, Scinde Irregular Horse, 1843-1853

The Scinde Irregular Horse was raised in 1839, becoming the 1st Regiment Sind Irregular Horse in 1846. The battle honours on this clasp reflect the unit's service in the Sind campaign of 1843. The regiment became the 1st Regiment of Scinde Horse in 1860. The unit became the 5th Bombay Cavalry (Jacob-ka-Risallah) in 1885 and the 5th Bombay Cavalry (Sind Horse) in 1888. Reform of the Indian Army in 1903 led to the regiment becoming the 35th Scinde Horse. The regiment served in India during World War One (1914-1918) but despatched drafts of men overseas. In 1921 the 35th Scinde Horse amalgamated with the 36th Jacob's Horse to form the 35th/36th Cavalry. In 1922 the unit became the 14th Prince of Wales's Own Scinde Horse.
