Brass badge in the form the unit abbreviation, '45CAV'.
The 45th Cavalry was one of a number of regiments raised during World War One (1914-1918). It was raised in August 1918 and was formed from a squadron each from the 20th Deccan Horse, 34th Prince Albert Victor's Own Poona Horse, 36th Jacob's Horse and the 38th King George's Own Central India Horse. The unit was disbanded in 1919.
