Pugri badge, 65th Carnatic Light Infantry, 1903-1904

Gilt badge in the form of a bugle horn above a scroll inscribed, 'Carnatic Light Infantry'.

The 65th Carnatic Light Infantry was formed in 1903 from the 5th Madras Infantry. The unit's origin went back to 1759 and the raising of the 6th Battalion of Coast Sepoys. The regiment was disbanded in 1904.
