Button, 21st Regiment of Bombay Infantry (Marine Battalion) 1885-1901
Medium-sized brass button made by the Army and Navy Co-operative Society, with the regimental number within a circlet and wreath, surmounted by a crown.
The Marine Battalion was raised in 1777, becoming the 21st Regiment of Bombay Native Infantry (Marine Battalion) in 1861. In 1903 the unit became the 21st Bombay Pioneers and the Corps of Bombay Pioneers in 1929. It was disbanded in 1933.
