Collar badge, Punjab Light Horse, 1901-1947

Bi-metal badge in the form of seven pointed star with crown forming the eighth point. The white metal centre bears the unit initials, 'P' over 'LH', with a circlet inscribed with the unit motto, 'De Bon Voulir Servir Le Roi', 'to serve the King with good will'.

The Punjab Light Horse was raised in 1867 as part of the Cavalry Reserve of the British Indian Army. Based in Lahore the unit was disbanded after India gained independence in 1947.
