Helmet badge, Allahabad Volunteer Rifles, 1871-1901
Silver plate badge with a central monogram, 'AVR' surmounted by a crown, with crossed rifles and a bugle horn, with a scroll below, bearing the motto, 'Pro Focis et Aris'.
The Allahabad Volunteer Rifles were formed in January 1871. The Allahabad Volunteer Rifle Corps became the Allahabad Light Troop Horse in September 1884, and the Allahabad Light Horse in 1890.
