Shoulder title, Simla Rifles, 1920-1947

Brass badge in the form of the unit's title, 'Simla', between two bars.

The 2nd Punjab (Simla) Rifle Volunteers was raised in 1861 and was renamed the Simla Volunteer Rifles in 1904. On the 1917 the unit was renamed 4th Simla RIfles. In 1920, the unit became the Simla Rifles, part of the Auxilary Force, India (AFI).
