Pouch belt plate, Darrang Mounted Rifles, 1887-1891

White metal badge with wreath surrounding a Maltese Cross, surmounted by Guelphic Crown, with a scroll bearing the unit title.

Raised as a auxiliary unit in Assam in June 1887, the Darrang Mounted Infantry became the Darrang Mounted Rifles on 15 February 1889. On 6 November 1891 the unit was amalgamated into the Assam Valley Mounted Rifles.
