Helmet badge, Rohilkhand Volunteer Rifle Corps, 1881-1901
Blackened brass badge in the form of a Maltese Cross surmounted by a crown, with bugle horn in the centre, within a circlet, inscribed with regimental title, 'Rohilkhand Vol Rifle Corps'.
The Rohilkhand Volunteer Rifle Corps was an auxiliary infantry regiment raised in 1881 with its headquarters in Bareilly in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The unit merged with the Oudh Volunteer Rifle Corps in 1903 to form the Oudh and Rohilkhand Railway Volunteer Rifle Corps. The unit was redesignated the 25th Oudh and Rohilkhand Railway Battalion in 1917.
